V-day Look 1: Forget Me Not

Valentine’s day is approaching again, and if you are single, this can be a pretty dreadful time of the year…but it doesn’t have to be. Today, I’m sharing a cute casual outfit idea that is perfect for hanging out with your girls because, who needs a boyfriend? Ditch the sweatpants this year, and don’t you dare put on “The Notebook”, or any other movie that will have you crying over your pizza 😉

For me, Valentine’s day is just another excuse to get dressed up (boyfriend or not),so I put together two looks, one more casual for hanging with the girls, and a date-night look. I wanted to change it up from the usual pink frilly dress or the red bodycon, so for my first look, I found this ringer tee at Forever 21 that reads “Forget Me Not”in pink, and I knew I wanted to create a look around it Get it Here. I chose to pair it with this baby pink pleated skater skirt, also from forever 21 HERE. I love these skirts paired with something casual like a cropped sweater or a simple tee like I did here. I knotted it to show my midriff so that it gave me a little more height, but also to make the look less sweet. I wanted to add another element to the look, so I went with these dotted tights HERE and also, some frill ankle socks to play in with the sweet vibe. To finish, I added a good ol’ biker jacket and black booties.

I think this look is perfect for dinner and drinks with your friend’s, or even a casual movie night date. Be sure to check back for my dressier option where I show you how to mix prints. Hope this post gave you all a little outfit inspiration, and also some peace of mind on celebrating Valentine’s day without  a boyfriend.
