It’s been a while since I’ve been in school. I graduated HS in 2006, and did a 2 year program after that, so it’s been close to 10 years. (WOW, I feel old) Still, I was inspired by this wall art to do a back to school post. Many people are getting ready to start (or have started), but if school was forever ago for you as well, these tips will still work great for a productive morning. As much as I would love to be one of those people who wake up early, do their workout, make their bed, and drink their green smoothie …I am totally not. These tips have worked for me since I was in HS, and I continue them now for work.
Tip 2: Set your alarm a bit earlier than you actually have to wake up. I set my alarm back about 20 minutes earlier. Doing this lets me ease my way up to waking up, resulting in a much happier Vanessa for everyone 🙂
Tip 3: Pre-prepare your breakfast/lunch. Cutting up veggies/fruits and keeping it in a tupperware makes for easy grabbing. I am so lazy in the morning and if I have to spend too much time preparing my breakfast/lunch….I won’t. I don’t do this often enough, but whenever I give myself time to enjoy breakfast, I’m so much more energized throughout the day. Pre-pairing your lunch makes sure you are eating good food, and skipping out on that McDonald’s run.
Tip 4: Develop a 5 minute makeup routine, and keep those products out. It never takes me longer than 5 minutes …just some foundation, concealer under my eyes, a little blush or bronzer, and mascara is all it takes. Leaving them in sight takes the extra time of digging through your drawers.
Tip 5: My final tip is something I do only when I have time and it’s to tidy up a bit around the house, whether that be putting away dishes, throwing clothes laying around in the hamper, putting things you use away, making the bed, or even something as simple as fluffing the pillows and blanket in the living room. This makes me feel productive right off the bat, and sets the tone for the rest of the day. It’s also nice to not have to come home to a mess.
