I always loved incorporating prints into my mostly neutral wardrobe. Aside from stripes, polka-dots have always been a staple for me. This season polka-dots are everywhere from tops, bottoms, accessories, and so on. If you aren’t comfortable with prints, polka dots are an easy option to step out of your comfort because although the larger polka dot prints can be intimidating, there are tons of smaller dot versions that are wearable for everyone. Today, I’m showing you a dressed up option, and a casual option to show the versatility of this trend.
I’ve had these shorts for years now and pulled them out the first above 70 degree day we had! This look is an easy mixed print option, because although both are polka dots, they are different in size, color, and shape… so it still gives the same effect, in a more subtle way.
Polka-dots are often shown in more dressed up looks because it’s such a chic print, but I wanted to show that they can be worn casual as well. This top was a Marshalls find and I loved the red dots and how versatile it is. Here I wore it on a casual Sunday outing with mom jeans, converses, and a cabby hat. I can easily dress it up with some cute mules, tighter jeans, my hair pulled back, and some statement earrings.
