Let’s Catch Up – Engaged, School, Wedding Planning

Wow has it been a while, but I promise it’s for good reason. I’ve been really focused on growing these last few months. One of my goals for 2018 was to chase the career I want. I was battling for a while if I would need to go back to school, but after many attempts and dozens of resume submissions later, I decided school may be the best option. I enrolled into one of the best accredited schools for Fashion merchandising and will be starting this coming January! I’m nervous because it’s it’s been a while since I was in school, but I am mostly excited to learn more about the merchandising world I find myself so fascinated in.

Besides school, something else even more exciting happened….I GOT ENGAGED! I still can’t believe it …we’ve been talking about marriage for the last couple of years so it’s so surreal that I am now planning a wedding. I couldn’t have dreamt up a more perfect proposal,  and I am so excited both our families and closest friends were there to witness it.

The Proposal

We actually planned a dinner because it was my fiancé’s birthday. Our families have never all been together so we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to get everyone together. We had a whole area to ourselves at a local restaurant. My fiancé hooked up his laptop and speakers and had music playing. I noticed he was so anxious the whole night, but he has anxiety so it never really crossed my mind. After we all had dinner, he stood up with the microphone to what I assumed was to thank everyone for coming, but instead he said “I know she thinks we are all here to celebrate my birthday, but in reality we are here to celebrate something much more important, and that’s 4 years with her (our anniversary was also this day), and I’d like to sing her a song (my boyfriend is a composer but also does weddings/parties on the side and is a great singer!).

He sings me Ed Sheeran Thinking Out Loud. At this point, I am already like OMG OMG OMG is it going to happen today?! He stands me up and says “I usually get her flowers this time of year, but I don’t have flowers for you today…but I think you’ll like what I have much more….DROPS DOWN TO ONE KNEE & I START BAWLING…”Will you Marry me Vanessa Pacheco?”. I couldn’t even answer him, so he says “she said YES!” lol. It was such a special moment, and everyone was crying and cheering along with us. Everyone knew the reason they were there, which was funny but also so special that they all made it.

Needless to say, planning has been in full effect…although I might have pinterested ideas way before marriage was even a thought LOL. We are actually seeing our venue of choice this weekend *crossing fingers* that it’s everything and more.

I’m so happy and wanted to share this on my blog to look back on. I hope you enjoyed! Let me know if I should post more about my wedding planning 🙂 I will be posting a fashion post in the next few days…Stay tuned!<3
